Sometimes God brings people into your life. People who, in only a few moments, or with only a few words, will absolutely change the direction of you life. Mallory has been one of those people in my life. There’s a whole story there, one that I won’t go into with full details today, but suffice to say, the encouragement and sage advice of a person I had only just met (Mallory) gave me the confidence to pursue photography as more than just a hobby. Though we had only met once prior to this session, I often find myself turning to Mallory for advice, as I know for certain her advice will be handed out both prayerfully and sincerely. She has been such a blessing to my life, as I feel certain she is to all lives she touches.
I am so thankful that nearly 3 years later, I had the blessing of shooting Mallory and her husband, Brian, for an actual session. Mallory emailed me a few months back, to say they would be in the area vacationing with their family, and wondering if I could fit them in. When I heard what they had in mind for their session, no way was I going to turn them down! Shooting photographers proved to be one of the most stressful and intimidating things I have ever done, and I was, quite literally, a ball of nerves by the time our session rolled around. Of course, Mallory and Brian are both as sweet as can be, and made my job super easy. The pressure was completely self-imposed, but it was there, nevertheless! It does seem like anytime I have the opportunity to work under a bit of extra pressure, it’s something of a growing and learning experience, and I find that I am always grateful when I say yes.
Mallory and Brian have such a great love story, and their marriage is really a testimony to what God can do in the lives of two people in love. Because of the flow of the session, I am going to wait to share their story until the next half of the session, coming up soon. For now, enjoy a few of my favorites of the first half of Bryan and Mallory’s “love” session!
We started off right outside my house, breaking in my “new” prop, a vintage settee-consignment piece I just found… and they broke it in right! They were so cuddly with each other!
A special thanks to Kaitlin Tunnell from A Perfect Image for the fabulous job on Mallory’s hair…..those curls survived almost 2 hours of July in Arkansas. And, at the end of the session, Mallory still looked amazing. That’s quite a testimony to Kaitlin, if you ask me!
I love Mallory’s laugh. These two are seriously so in love and have so much fun together. It’s very inspirational to see such a flourishing marriage!
For Brian….your wife is gorgeous, but you already know that, right?!
We stayed close to my house for necessity….we needed a place to allow for a change between sessions. I guess we are lucky to have so many pretty spots within a mile of our home. And nice neighbors who don’t kick us off of their land…that’s good too!
