Cody and Layne: Engagements

I guess you could say it all started at a rodeo. Or even many, many rodeos. Layne and Cody were two people raised in the rodeo. And, while they both knew of the other, for a long time, that was all there was. Just a little bit of interest, drowned out by other things, like the three year age difference, other relationships, and just the crazy life of the rodeo. But, one day, Cody heard Layne was newly single, and decided to make the jump and try to get to know her a little better. And, truth be told, it wasn't too hard for him to get pretty Layne's attention, since not only was Cody cute and sweet, but he was also quite a name around rodeo circles. In other words, he is good! And, it didn't take long for the relationship to blossom into something serious. And, after about 8 months of carrying a ring around in his pocket, Cody finally found the nerve to ask Layne (and her dad ☻) for forever.

Cody and Layne are a perfect fit, from their easy-going nature to their love of the rodeo, and I can't image a better match. And, although they tried to explain some rodeo lingo to me, I really just sat back and listened to them, more than their explanations. They would tell a story, and so easily pick up on each other's sentences and thoughts. They are absolutely too cute and in love with one another. I did catch Layne mention proudly that Cody was, at one time, ranked 16th in the nation in his respective competition, and even I know enough to know that is awesome!

Layne choose Mt Nebo in Dardanelle as the location for their engagement pictures, so we met at the bottom of the mountain, and drove up together, looking for nice spots along the way. And, nice spots we found! Our one hour session went wayyy over, and Cody got pretty nervous, as he had a rodeo at 8:00! But, I have to give him credit, he was a great sport, and went along with every idea Layne or I had. I absolutely look forward to shooting their wedding day in October. Here are a few of my favs from their session!
