Yes, we are crazy. We decided to brave a short family photo-shoot on the beach, with a 3 year old, a 5 year old, and a tripod. Add to that mix the insane wind and an ominous wall cloud fast approaching, and it’s a miracle we made it out with anything to show for our efforts….fortunately, we did manage a few. The girls are getting infinitely easier to photograph, although I still wouldn’t call them easy by any stretch of the imagination
We used two very effective tactics during our shoot…bribes and reverse pyschology. They were promised a toy and ice cream if they were good. And, anytime we wanted Kenzie to smile (or do anything specific) we adamently told her NOT to do it. Kenzie, don’t smile. Don’t hug your sister. Don’t you dare look at the camera.….it’s pretty lame, but she fell for it hook, line, and sinker. She would get a really mischevious look on her face, and then do the precise thing we warned her against. Something tells me we are going to have our hands full with that one, when the teenage years hit.
Here are a couple of shots from our little impromtu session……
That last shot was taken by Abree. When we finally made it to the car, hurrying to beat out the coming storm, we realized we hadn’t gotten a shot of just us, so we handed the point-and-shoot to Abree (I don’t trust her with my DSLR yet!) You can really see the crazy-ominous wall cloud that was creeping up on us here! We were laughing, because Abree was so scared of the storm, she almost couldn’t hold still to take the picture
