I wish I could describe the warm, fuzzy feelings that encompassed me as I read blessing after blessing pour into my inbox. It’s been a rough week around the McCrotty house, with two sick little girls, and it’s been a rough week for me, just in general. I guess everyone has weeks and days like that…but they’re not much fun. Which was one of the reasons I decided to do the giveaway. Sometimes when you’re feeling really crummy, the only way out is to just do something nice. And, it worked in tenfolds. My spirit was lifted by all the blessings I was lucky enough to read, and just by the amazing realization that you guys took the time to even comment on my little blog. What a blessing, in and off itself!
We drew the winner randomly, from all of the comments, but here are a few of the thankful comments that really struck home to me:
Melissa, I am thankful to be fulfilling the call that God has upon mine and my families lives. There is nothing more satisfying than to be in God’s perfect plan. No, it’s not always easy but it is always worth it. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family. Over the last couple of months I have been very sick and Shannon has stepped up to the plate and done a great job taking care of everything. I am so very thankful for a great man of God and two great children. I am truly living the dream. A dream without Starbucks but, a great dream. lol! – Shannon and Susan Pruitt, missionaries in Guatemala
I am thankful for my risen Saviour & Lord, my hubby who is more than I ever deserved, my sweet, sweet baby girl, and the joy of having another “on the way”. - Amber H. (Congrats Amber! So happy for you guys!)
Melissa, I am thankful for life, pictures, family, and a God who watches over me. On February 8, 2009 our home burned. The only thing that I ask the firemen to save was my pictures. They are so very important to me. I have about 95% of my pictures because of the bravery of the Russellville Fire Department and the volunteers of the Pottsville Fire Department. I will be forever grateful. Then I met you at a wedding, and you took some great pictures of my wonderful family that I will cherish forever. This year I have a brand new house and a new house full of new furniture. I am so thankful that God took what satan meant to destroy our family and turned it out for good. Our new house is so much better than our old one, and I have never had so many new wonderful things. The most important thing that came out of the fire was my children, three of the five were home asleep. Angels woke us up at 1:30 in the morning and we got out safe. I have so much to be thankful for, I could go on forever. Thanks for coming into our lives. — Pam T. (love this family!)
I am thankful for an amazing job teaching 2nd grade. After completing the Non-Traditional teaching program I was told it will be hard to get a job, or I wouldn’t be able to get a job in this area. And even though I have to travel about 60 miles a day, I am so thankful for the wonderful rewarding job that I have. After all of this economic stress, and people that complain constantly about their jobs, I am just so greatful to have one. — Sara P. ( I have to wholeheartedly agree, b/c Wes’s is working through the NTL program right now, and we are so thankful for his job!)
I am thankful that God chose me to be Malachi’s mom. I can’t imagine life without him. I am thankful for a husband who understands and loves me unconditionally even when I know I don’t deserve it. I am thankful for a family both mine and my husbands, who supports us through every crook and turn in our lives. I am thankful for my friends who see me … Read Morefor me and never try to change me. I am thankful that everyday there is something new to look forward to, whether it be Malachi saying his first words or my husband discovering he really does like to watch Project Runway with me. — Jessica C. ( I had to laugh at the one, because it took me awhile to convince Wes that he does, in face, like Grey’s Anatomy. Hmmm, maybe I will work on Project Runway next, Jess!)
There were so, so many who spoke of their thankfulness for our Lord and Savior. It was so uplifting to read, especially in light of the world we are now living in. He gives us hope, not only tommorrow, but also today. And, on that note, the randomly drawn winner of the 2010 portrait session and CD is………………….. Shelly Sanders!
I will get ahold of you on Facebook, Shelly!
PS – I counted both the Facebook and the Blog comments, printed them off, cut them up, and let Abree draw out the winner. So, if you are mad, she’s the one you need to talk to! lol!
And, because I hate to post without a picture, here’s an old one I drummed up from last summer, maybe Abree’s gonna join the biz when she gets a bit older???
