• Hey, there! I'm Melissa McCrotty......a wedding and senior portrait photographer based in Russellville, Arkansas. I'm also a wife to Wes, and mommy to our two little gals, all three of whom you will probably see on this blog, if you hang around long enough!

This blog follows my most recent shoots, as well as bits and pieces of my life and other random-ness! Thank you so much for stopping by! Now, pull up a chair and hang out for a bit......

Ali and Hunter: 2013 Pottsville Seniors

So sad to be shooting Ali for the last time this year! She was a SR Model, our neighbor, and also babysits the girls sometimes, so she’s definitely a special one! Her twin brother, Hunter, came along (because his mom said he had to!) and we managed to sneak in a few shots of him, as well! Here are a few favorites from their session last week….

Happy Friday!!  Have a great weekend!

Nancy Myers - Thank you so much JoAnne…..:)

JoAnn Porter-Roy - Awesome! Beautiful and handsome what more can I say!

Britney: 2013 Pottsville SR

Loved shooting Britney’s senior session last week, even though it was CRAZY cold and super-windy! She was a great sport, and hung in through it all….and made some amazing images! Here are a few favorites….

Happy Thursday!

Mariah: 2013 Perryville Senior

Mariah might win the award for the coldest Senior Session I have ever shot….although I had another super-cold one about a week after hers! The has been a crazy “spring”, with the groundhog missing his prediction by so much:)Thankfully, we were able to survive the freezing cold and windy session, and the sun was shining, so it was a beautiful day, if a miserable one! Mariah is a senior at Perryville, and super-involved on the softball team there, so catching a date for her spring senior shoot was no easy task! I am so glad she was able to come up!

Thanks to SR model Janna for telling Mariah about us, and thanks to MaRya Hunnicutt at Vspa for the beautiful makeup!

We found a super-neat place to shoot, which was out of the wind….and after about 2 shots, we were promptly kicked out!  We chose to ask forgiveness over permission, and this was on time where it backfired!  At least we got a couple of shots
:)
Hope you are having a great Tuesday!

Jennifer Eastburn Goodman - great shoot! Was the place you got kicked out right by the bridge (Thompson Industries) with the fence and line of trees? I used to shoot there ALL time and now they have a no trespassing sign. I was heartbroken!

Mallory + Eli: Russellville Wedding

Everything about their story is memorable, so why should their wedding day be any different?  When Eli originally pursued Mallory, she avoided his calls and hid in the closet, begging her mom to make excuses.  Eventually, he took the  hint, but a random Facebook encounter several years after high school, and Eli was ready to try again.  This time, Mallory was more receptive, which was about all the push he needed.  Of course, he eventually won her over, and the two were married on a perfectly terrible day this past weekend!  The weather was cold, foggy, and wet, but the mood was happy and upbeat, and the bride and groom were so in love, they literally glowed…. and absolutely nothing else mattered.   Despite the weather– many, many friends and family turned out to wish these two a happy wedding day, adding up to a day that really couldn’t have been any more….memorable!

Thanks to these amazing vendors who made the day so great:

Makeup:  MaRya Hunnicutt for Vspa
Dress:  Danielle’s Bridal
DJ:  Central Arkansas Entertainment
Venue:  Family Barn
Design and Decor:  Mallory, Eli, and their families
Florals:  Family Friend

Here are a few favorites, and you can see more in the SLIDESHOW…..

Right before Mallory was to slip on the dress, she had instructions to watch a DVD from Eli….
In which he discussed all of the fun things they were going to be able to do together after they were married……it was just a little bit funny
:)
This wasn’t supposed to be where Mallory and Eli said their vows….the original plan was to use a beautiful field nearby, but after the forecast called for high chances of rain, they quickly worked on a backup plan, and in about 3 days, converted this covered barn area in to a perfect ceremony setting….which was such a great thing, since it did, in fact, rain all day long!
The mother-son dance started out all sweet….
And then erupted into…..
The Harlem shake….do the Harlem shake!!!!
Happy Tuesday!

Pam Dougan - Absolutely GORGEOUS Mallory!! Just Like YOU!!!

Sarah Ratzlaff - It’s all about Love! :) love warmed our hearts on your wedding day…as it was shared by the glow of Eli and Mallory’s love for each other! Great job on the pictures Melissa, you captured it so beautifully! (hard to tell it was freezing cold).

Beckie Pendergrass - Amazing Wedding….Amazing photography……Love was truly in the air!

Kathryn + Lance: Pottsville First Assembly of God Wedding

It’s hard to even know where to start with these two.  After shooting their proposal/Christmas shoot, then their amazing Blueberry Hill engagement session, the bar was set pretty high for their wedding day!  Of course, they are so incredibly in love, and so devoted to keeping Christ at the center of their marriage, that honestly, the rest was just icing.  Quite a bit of yummy icing, though!  Thanks to all of these vendors who made the icing so sweet!

Vendors:
Venue:  Pottsville First Assembly of God Church
Barn Venue:  The Oats Family Barn
After-shoot:  Brayberry Farms
Dress:  Danielle’s Bridal
Lance’s suit:  EM in Conway

Makeup:  MaRya Hunnicutt for Vspa

It was such a great day…here are a few favorite, or you can see more in the SLIDESHOW!

Lance had decorated an old barn near the church for their first look, and walking up to meet him, Kathryn ran into this sign….
Love the anticipation, right before seeing each other for the first time, on their wedding day!
Lance is a designer with Cathy’s flowers, as well as a photographer, and he designed and created Kathryn’s bouquet, which he presented to her at the first look….
G0t to get the Instagram shot….

Lance sang to Kat….and I am pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!

Normally, this would be the end, but if you know Kathryn and Lance, and how much they love pictures, you wouldn’t be surprised that we spent another 2 hours shooting in the beautiful afternoon light!
This is how we felt about now……
They quickly got their second wind, though, and finished up strong!
Moving to Brayberry Farm to finish up the shoot….
The end!  Congratulations, Kathryn and Lance!  These last 15 months have been a blast, documenting your engagement and marriage!
